Anarchic Representation is a fiction in which Nick, a young New York actor, receives a headset that allows him to vlog his entire daily life live on Instagram—while simultaneously reducing his perception of the world to what appears through the stream. Over the course of a day, Nick inhabits a micro-cinema of his own life, moving erratically through different parts of New York that serve as cinematic backdrops—Cortlandt Alley, Brooklyn Heights, Central Park. He does almost nothing within these spaces, using them as stages for his existence, while the very act of documenting his life gradually traps him within his own representations.
